[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] FW: [SEC-ARES] Universal Radio closing November 30th.

I have been shopping there since 2003 when I got my license. Not only was
the staff available via phone, there tech guys were all hams as well. I
never made it to their shop in person but I have a number of sites I visit
daily and theirs was on the daily checklist along with QRZ and Eham. Yes,
lots of good info on previous radios that were sold and specs. I bought a
number of parts from them and used gear as they had good prices and stated
up front the condition.

They reminded me a lot of Heathkit when I worked there. Who will fill their
rather large and personal shoes? Not HRO or R&L although R&L was a
competitor I think and also a Mom and Pop outfit. Sad to see them
go.....Will miss the cats also :)
