I really like this Baofeng.
https://www.amazon.com/Baofeng-136-174MHz-400-520Mhz-Amateur-Handheld/dp/B0791H3WDG/https://www.amazon.com/Baofeng-136-174MHz-400-520Mhz-Amateur-Handheld/dp/B0791H3WDG/ <https://www.amazon.com/Baofeng-136-174MHz-400-520Mhz-Amateur-Handheld/dp/B0791H3WDG/https://www.amazon.com/Baofeng-136-174MHz-400-520Mhz-Amateur-Handheld/dp/B0791H3WDG/>
It’s $26.99 with free 1 day delivery if you have amazon prime.
It’s very similar in features, but the case is a little sturdier (they call “commercial”),
the styling is more conventional, the keypad has the telephone dialpad style layout where
the zero is below the 8, between the * and the #, and the radio also has dual PTT keys on the side,
so you can transmit on the “A” frequency or the “B” frequency, simply by pressing the upper or lower PTT key.
you can’t beat it for $27.00, and while it’s not as popular as the uv-5r line, there still are a ton of inexpensive accessories
available including extended life batteries and 12 V car power adapters.
— Just a thought, and another option.
