[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] Impromptu Radio Outing

I'm considering an informal day trip to somewhere up toward the blue ridge hills to operate portable for a few hours. Does anyone have any suggestions for places to operate? I'm looking for a place where I can run my generator, put up the Buddipole HF dipole, and operate from right near parking. Bonus points for a playground for the kids to play.
