[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] Washington's Birthday Parade - INFO

All,

            Attached are the two maps that are on the Parade website.

            Plan 

            No later then 9:30 AM meet at Fire Training Center Parking Lot
to car pool to Lyles Crouch School.  We only have 4 Parking spots at the
school.  

            Arrive at Lyles Crouch School before 10 AM (City will restrict
traffic in the parade area after 10AM and the roads around the area will be
closed so that the marchers can line up.

            At 11 AM we will gather at the corner of St. Asaphs St and
Wilkes to meet with the Parade management and marshals.  Assignments will be
made at that time.

            By 12 noon we should have the parade divisions organized.  The
parade marshals will provide the amateurs with the changes to the order of
march.

            The order is NOT the march order, but we will change the
following way

 

            ADD  101A ( a new unit between 101 and 102

            DROP 89

            MOVE 65 to 35A

            

            Parade steps off at 1 PM.

 

            These should be the only way to input changes.  PLEASE do not
call in changes as you get them but wait until the marshal starts the units.
Once the Division starts to enter the parade call in ALL of your changes to
the Trailer and the D-Star operator will edit the order of march and send it
to the reviewing stand.  After you have sent in your changes,  you may stay
with the parade if you want.  

            After the parade we will depart and go to either Fuddruckers or
Pizza Hut lunch   Parade should be over by 3 PM

 

            We will be using the 146.655 Repeater (Many thanks to the Mt.
Vernon Radio Club)  PL is 141.3.  Back up is 147.315 SIMPLEX.

            Assignments will depend on how many volunteers we have.  We will
have one or two operators in the Trailer at the start and one or two at the
reviewing stand the remainder will be assigned to the marshals or parade
management.
