Ok, its here!

I realize this is a little late. However, this Sunday is the 8th annual
Venture Quest. I believe Alexandria has helped out with all but the first
one! Shawn Stokes and other members of the Dunn Loring Volunteer Fire Dept
will also be assisting them again this year.

Jim Harman has listed his thoughts on where he needs operators. That email
is pasted below. He also said the course is not as spread out as in years
past so it shouldn't be that hard to cover. He also said the VQ staff bought
some VHF radios to use. He may be surprised at how they don't work over the
hills in that area but they will definitely work better than the FRS radios.

They would like a ham on the boat again this year. If you have a mobile rig,
battery and clamp on antenna (remember the boat is aluminum) this is a great
way to spend a warm September day!

If you can help please contact Shawn Stokes, KA3RQR at KA3RQR at arrl.net or
Rick Bunn, N4ASX at rrbunn at cox.net. (I will be out of town and won't get to
play this year.)
Feel free to pass this along to other hams. Again, I apologize for the late
notice. I know there are other ham radio events going on this weekend.
