For those who are going to help with the G.W. Parade this Monday.
I have 10 CAR PASSES for the Companion Center parking. Not a big place.
Recommend you meet at the Fire Training Center and car pool down to the
parking spot at the Companion Center. I will get the parking passes to
someone up there.
Suggest you meet up there no later then 9AM so you can get down to the
parade start (Wilkes and St. Asaphs St. by 10 AM. WHY? Police close the
roads at 11AM. You can still get to that point by 11AM that's fine. We
will have Ian N8IK, Harry N4CWP and one or two of the scouts up at the
reviewing stand to run D-Star and / or Packet. At 11AM the Shadows will be
paired up with their marshals and with some of the parade organizers.
Rich and Bryan - I just looked at the trailer and there is ice around the
wheels and tow bar. IF we get some warmer weather we may be able to tow it
tomorrow and charge batteries or swap them out for some charged ones (I have
two that should be good in my garage.
Plan is to have the trailer and the tow vehicle on St. Asaphs at the parade
start. The more operators we have the more we can do to cover the 10
divisions. If we run short of operators, we will have to have the marshals
find the radio operators and pass their changes in that way. All of the
changes to the order of march should be in by 12:45 and Rich should be able
to send the edited file to Ian quickly. IF D-Star fails then we will set up
the packet from my jeep and pass it to Harry at the reviewing stand.
The Parade steps off at 1:00 PM and the first units will be at the reviewing
stand by 1:20. Expect the end of the race at 3 PM.
The trailer should be able to fold up its antennas and be the last unit in
the parade.
After the parade there is a reception were Alexandria and Mt. Vernon Radio
Clubs will receive the Chairman's Award. All are invited to this reception
where they will be serving a late lunch at the American Legion Hall just
behind the Reviewing stand.
You can find a link to the parade info on www.w4hfh.org
For BRYAN. If we cannot get the trailer unstuck tomorrow, I will give you a
call.
Talk in will be on the 147.315 repeater and we will use the 146.655 (PL
141.3) for the parade traffic.
73 and hope to see a lot of folks out there, we need about 20 operators.

Subject: Monday Parade Info
Good Morning,
Was double checking on the time and location for Monday's parade. I seem to
remember something about parking and the school not allowing us to use the
parking lot but couldn't find that info on the reflector. Would you kindly
verify and send out an update if this is true? Remember that the reflector
requires approval if you send an email from a different account than is
signed up with them (emails sent from registered accounts go right through)
and that the format must be in plain text. If your work email is not
registered I'll keep an eye out and approve it promptly.
Thanks and looking forward to the ARES meeting tonight.
73,
D.
