[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] Volunteers still needed

[WC4J]

  We are looking for volunteers for the 2006 MS Challenge walk.

This event takes place on Friday September 29 Saturday September 30

and Sunday October 1 2006. The event starts in northern Virginia and

ends in Washington Dc at the steps of the capitol. This is a fun

filled three day walk to help fight a fast growing problem in the USA.

We need operators that can do Voice mobile and portable from water

and rest stops, also we are looking for bicycles and motorcycle ops.

We would like to implement a tracking system for the SAG vehicles and

supply truck which are Staffed by MS members and are not on our net

they use FRS so we need APRS stations that can digi in the field and

simple tracker boxes for these vehicles, we would also like to have

beacons at the different aid stations along they way.

  So here is what we would like you to do. If you can mention this

event at your next club meeting, or om your reflector / mailing list

and encourage your members to volunteer we would greatly appreciate

it. This event is as big as the Marine Core Marathon and last 3 Days!

You can Volunteer for 1 2 or all 3 days it's your choice. Overnight

sleep areas are available with hot showers and food if you want to stay

the night and have a mini camp out event.A flyer for the event
