Hi Matt,
My name is Rich, and I am the club's chief instructor. We are just about finished with a class, which will end with an exam session on December 13. You can certainly give it the old college try if you want to try taking an exam. We also will be starting another session sometime in Februrary which will run through early May.
Several of us are working a project to put some new equipment on the air featuring one of the latest technologies in ham radio, and have another waiting in the wings.
You will find that our interests cross the spectrum of ham radio. There are many, many facets to ham radio, so try as many as you want. We always say if you're bored with ham radio, you're ot trying hard enough. You will find our club members dable in just about everything ham radio, so there is somebody there to answer your questions. Even those of us who have been at it awile are learning something new.
So, welcome to the world ham radio.
Rich, KA4GFY

In particular, I am interested in emergency preparedness, shortwave communications, CW, and antenna design. I checked out your website and look forward to meeting all of you, and participating in your events.'
