Hello, my name is Matt.  I am relatively new to Alexandria, having moved here in June 2004 after finishing a M.S. in Electrical Engineering, with an emphasis in electromagnetics and vacuum electronics. 

I have wanted to become involved in amateur radio for a long time, but am finally going to do it.  I am interested in joining you club, becoming licensed, and obtaining equipment.  In particular, I am interested in emergency preparedness, shortwave communications, CW, and antenna design.  I checked out your website and look forward to meeting all of you, and participating in your events.'
