[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] Batteries

  Good Morning to Everyone

  As those of you who were at the last Club meeting will
remember, I was to buy batteries for the Comm Trailer at the Father's
Day Hamfest in Frederick, MD.  I left some phone messages and sent
some e-mails last week and hoped to see the Battery Man yesterday. He 
was not at the hamfest, and I bought no batteries.

  BUT...He did call me yesterday evening and this is what we worked
out.

  1-He will have batteries for us at the Valley Forge, PA,
hamfest on July 16.     
  2-He will have 70-75 ampHr batteries for $25.00   3-He will have 
95-100 ampHr batteries for $35.00   4-He no longer gives a volume 
discount due to gas prices.   5-The bigger batteries are harder for him 
to get than the
smaller ones.   6-I will e-mail him an order by Friday July 7th so that he
has time to get the batteries by July 16th.

  I will be glad to pick up batteries for individual club
members.  If you don't want any batteries, you don't need to reply to
this.  If you want batteries, then send ME an e-mail. DO NOT REPLY to
directly this because the list moderators will simply bounce your
e-mail instead of filling everybody else's mail boxes.

  My e-mail addresses are WV8AA at ARRL.NET
WV8AA at lastnamesoftware.net awarnold at lastnamesoftware.net .  All
three addresses end up in the same place, so only use one of them.

  Obviously, you have to tell me how many big and how many
small batteries you want.  If you want big ones, you also need to
tell me if (and how many) small ones you will accept as substitutes. 
Remember that the big ones are harder for him to get.  Here's a
couple
of samples...

  Dear Self.  For the Comm Trailer, please get 4 big batteries.  If
they are unavailable, please substitute 5 small ones. 73 --Other
Self.

  Dear Self.  Please get 1 small and 1 big battery.  Don't get
a substitute if the big one is unavailable.  73 --Other Self.
