We don=92t know exactly when this will be effective but typically it=92s =
30 days
after the =93Report & Order=94 is published in the Federal Register.  =
However,
no one has seen the R&O yet.  It could also be effective immediately.  =
Once
the R&O is effective ALL Technician licensees will have access to the =
10m
phone subband at 28.300-28.500 MHz.  And all the expanded CW subbands as
well!  So the bottom line here is that the use of Morse code is NOT =
going
away =96 only the testing requirement. =20

Nothing says the club will stop teaching Morse code either =96 in fact, =
this
might make it easier to learn since there=92s no pressure. Folks can =
learn it
because they want to, not because they have to.
