Mike,
Count me in. For all of our other club members, This is a fun day
and the weather should be better then it has been. Please consider helping
out. Most of the work will require a mobile rig, but you can team up with
someone else and enjoy the race.

Is the Alexandria Radio interested in helping out with Venture Quest again
this year? This will be the 6th year in a row the club has provided
communications for this race!
>From Jim Harmon's email...
"The race date is Sept 24th. This year the course will
start and finish at Fountainhead so operations should be more straight
forward. The course will take racers no further North than Bull Run
Marina and no further South than Sandy Run."
Shawn and the Dunn Loring VFRD will very likely be supporting the race
again.
I will be happy to be the point person and coordinate with Jim, Shawn, and
SMRG but I need help from you recruiting club volunteers since I don't get
"back east" very often! At this point I have no idea how many operators we
would need. I think we have had 8-10 in the past. Since the start and
finish is in the same location that will eliminate the need for a few
people. It sounds like Fountainhead would be a great place to set up the
trailer as everything would revolve around that parking lot. This would be a
great PR opportunity! As you know lots of people are at the finish line!
Let me know if the club can commit to this and I will pass that on to Jim
and get an idea from him how many positions we need to fill.
