Subject: Re: [AK-VHF] Field Day 2023 Tomorrow

Brandon,

We got home later than expected (5pm) and tried calling on 146.52 a
couple times. Dale noted he made contact with you on 146.52 so that is
encouraging.

I turned on 14.074 and watched the FT8 waterfall screen full of signals
and decided it was too much a "circus" to go QRV.

AL7LE-Moosehorn ARC was active on 20m SSB yesterday until about 4pm when
Joe-WL7E arrived to operate CW. They were shooting a dipole into the
trees as I left.

We had three inquiries for exam testing. Two teens interested, one with
General-class became a student member of the club; the other in becoming
a ham. Had a woman with new mobile radio, power supply and mag-mount
6m/2m whip interested in becoming ham (referred her to ARRL-store for
license manual and handbook). Pretty good turn-out of folks including
some hams from the are.

Weather OK until about 3pm when it poured down for about an hour. Today
looks better. AL7LE probably active until 1pm (27 hour limit).

I will have my IC9700 on 146.52 this morning until about 12:30om (when I
leave to help tear-down and move tower-trailer to storage at KL7TC qth.

73, Ed - KL7UW

together were the new 6M antennas. I need to get a spool gun to finish
wepding the aluminum. With TIG DCEP didn't bond well, and DCEN just made a
godawful mess. So no 6 M tomorrow.
