[AK-VHF] Preparations for portable operation Sunday as portable from Diamond Ridge (above Homer).

Hi Ed,

That's great to hear. On Saturday I'll be running the Parks on the Air (portable operating, HF-emphasis) workshop at the MARA hamfest. The workshop goes from 1000-1100, and the location isn't great for VHF/UHF so I may not do contesting that day.

I'll definitely be set up on Sunday though. I'm going to just do a portable entry instead of a rover route. The Glen Alps area above Anchorage should be a straight shot to Diamond Ridge Road, like you mentioned. I'll have a similar setup to yours: portable mast, yagis on 2 M and 70 cm pointed your way.

I may also dismount my 2-element 6 meter yagi from the house and take that as well. With a good location and band activity picking up it might be worth keeping it pointed south to listen on FT8 for a few hours in the afternoon.
73,
Brandon
