[AK-VHF] Contest in the books

 There was a wildfire crew at my BP83 grid stop watching lightning strikes for awhile Sat night, so I watched with them. A lot of fast moving storm cells in the Interior all weekend, and I think that contributed to the rapid QSB; I'd see a decode or 2 from W7, VE7, but couldn't finish. Even had some trouble with Fairbanks stations at the longer grid stops. I heard WL7N off the back of my yagi (I was pointed at Fairbanks at the time), rotated and swapped a few decodes but couldn't close. 

Paul, I'm disappointed as well. Thought for sure we could make Q65-60A work. But as you note, summer E season is not over yet.

Haven't added up the score yet, but stopped in 8 grids, activated 7, mostly BP70s, 80s, and 90s, and worked stations from BP64 down to BO49. Lots of spring calves out with mom on the Rich Sun night on the way home-that will keep you on your toes. All in all, good fun.

So, Ken was getting out, but conditions didn't see fit to get us together for a QSO this time. And WL7N must have had his antenna pointed north when we heard him.

BTW, we're approaching to the summer solstice, meaning there is still a lot of potentially good propagation for DX. Keep your ears and eyes on 6m. You never know what you'll get!
