Hi Ken,
I'm definitely interested in working you but I suspect I will be out of
range. I was hoping to have a yagi for 6 M this time around, but the one I
ordered will not arrive in time.
If you are planning to do a rover route in June again let me know. If I can
make the time off work I may add a northerly section to my usual route for
some rover-to-rover contacts.
All,
For this Saturday I won't be doing a full route like usual. I have some
battery and antenna issues I am working on, so I will just do two grids.
My plan is to operate from the Anchorage hillside (BP51) and Point Woronzof
(BP41). Those two sites have the best access to south-central and can work
the most stations. I'll send out a timetable tonight.
I will be running my usual 2 M and 70 cm yagis (vertical polarization). I
will also be using a horizontal dipole for 6 meters. It doesn't provide
gain, but it gets up high on a mast, so should work pretty well from the
valley to the northern Kenai.
At each of the two grids I will start out on 6 M FT8, and then switch over
to 2 M FM voice. From 2 M I will QSY back and forth with whomever is in air
to work other bands.
Brandon
