[AK-VHF] Parks on the Air Saturday

Brandon,

Thanks for the reminder.

I use to live in Hope and their is no path to Eagle River/Palmer area
or the 147.30 repeater from there. But mid to west Anchorage and
Wasilla/Big Lake is good. KL6M and KL3WF are possible (not
sure). They are probably can shoot down to mountains west side of
Hope with scatter back at you.

I never worked 6m from there, mainly 2m.

Another good site is just beyond the Sea View Cafe in downtown Hope
at the edge of the mud flats (totally unobstructed view north).

Unlikely I can hear you on 2m as direct path is blocked by mountain
range on west side of Hope; a bounce off mountains above east-side of
Anchorage is probably only a possibility and would take 100w+ power
levels, most likely. But someone in Anchorage should copy you for
relay into the net. I am still using the vertical as SWR problem not
resolved last weekend (its in 2-way or above). Winds came up and
prevented use of the man-lift after 11am Saturday.

I have 80w and two 7-element yagis on 6m so that is higher
possibility back into Hope. I can rotate to search for a
signal. FT8 will definitely help with that path from me.
