[AK-VHF] MARA Special Presentation

Hello group,

I received the following invite from Tabitha, with the Matanuska Amateur
Radio Club:

I would like to invite you and the VHF-Up Group to our general meeting on
January 31 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 7 pm. We are having a special
presentation by the Hatcher Pass Avalanche Center on Avalanche Awareness
and Safety. Not only is this information good for us as outdoor recreation
enthusiasts, but also something we can take a role in as hams. The
Avalanche Center encourages reports by citizens of potential avalanche
hazards, as well as ones that have already occurred. It helps them make
better forecasts.

Avalanches are a real issue here in Alaska, and you don't have to be in the
backcountry to get caught in one. Many of our roads pass through avalanche
areas as well. If you're near the Mat-Su this is a presentation to not miss.
