Net will begin at 9:30 am on 146.52 FM simplex.
Last Sunday after having a brunch/APRS workshop meeting at the Kenai
Paradosis Restaurant, Brandon-KL7BSC and his girlfriend drove up to
my place and helped me get my 2m yagi array turned toward
Anchorage. Actually the array ended parked with cross-boom resting
on the tower top plate.
Today Northerly winds rotated the array so it dropped facing
Anchorage +/- 15 degrees. So we will have use of the 21.3 dB gain
array once again (vs using the 10-dB vertical).
Hope folks enjoyed the January ARRL VHF Contest last
weekend. Brandon operated using the AK VHF-Up Group's new club call,
KL7VHF, while operating rover from his truck in four grid squares:
two in Anchorage (BP51 & BP41) and one on Turnagain Arm (BP50),
finishing with BP40 on the Kenai Peninsula at MP64 of the Sterling
Hwy. He wrote a nice trip report that was distributed via the AK-VHF
Reflector a few days ago.
If you operated in the contest, please send in your log so we can
show the contest participation from Alaska. If you are a member of
Alaska VHF-Up Group, be sure to mark club name in your entry. Logs
must be sent within ten days of the contest (deadline is 0359utc Jan.
30). Enter by using this link: http://www.b4h.net/cabforms/
