Thanks for the effort, Brandon.

Be sure to submit your logs within the ten day
deadline: https://www.qsl.net/a/ak-vhf//Contests/

Obviously, I and others interested in VHF-up
contest activity need to do better recruiting
(encouraging more station to get active). The
term "contesting" often is seen in the light of
the experience of HF contests which are "a
different animal". We (who want to see VHF and
higher bands more active) need to inform that VHF
contesting is way less about competition and more
about more stations to work (FUN over
WINNING). Rovers like you are a precious entity
because you offer activity in locations not
usually active and often at greater distance,
which offers a challenge in our operating and station capabilities.

Many AK VHF and above stations have reverted to
satellite operations or eme to find the activity
(to keep it interesting). Those that live a
considerable distance from "urban Alaska" just
wonder if its worth the investment if they can
find no one in urbana that reciprocates with something more than minimal.

Ham UHF and mw bands are under invasion by
commercial users so if we do not use our
frequencies then they may get sold to highest bidder.

Final comment on another topic: Plan on coming
down to Kenai on Saturday, July 20 for the Kenai Peninsula Hamfest:

10am - 3:30pm
American Legion Hall in Kenai

Planning some outdoor demo's about VHF+

Now I can get outside to do the mowing and yard work that is needed.
