[AK-VHF] MSK144 with WSJT-X 2.0 question

Ron,

I checked mileage between us using QRZ.com and was surprised to see
1205.6 mi (1940.3 km) on azimuth bearing of 68 degree for me. That
is just about ten degrees east of Anchorage from here.

So ms is definitely possible. We should try 144.145 MSK144 once I
have the 2m array raised and the new 1200w PA tested into it.

I spent all afternoon chopping my cables free from iced up snow so
that the array can be raised. If winds stay calm that should happen
tomorrow. I will try some antenna rotation tests after it is up to
ensure new rotator is functioning. Troubles appeared to be with
motor capacitor located in control unit. I have a separate
non-polarized ac capacitor to connect into rotator wiring at tower
base to eliminate using the one in the controller.

Then I want to do some transmitting tests running JT65 to be sure the
cooling works for extended use. MSK144 runs about the same duty cycle.
I think Joe Taylor is recommending FT8 over ISCAT. I have not run
either. I will need to update my WSJT-X to latest vers.

Long range tropo-scatter is probably much less likely. EME when you
have ground gain is another possibility (assume you do not elevate
the new Quagi).
