Hi Ed,
I'll be out doing a rover entry again, but it's going to be an
abbreviated route this time. I've got some non-radio stuff going on that
has gotten in the way of important things (like radio, ha!). I won't
have a full yagi stack this time around, so I'll just be using the
mobile antennas on my truck. That will still give me reach from Soldotna
to Anchorage when I'm at good locations, so I'm not worried about it.
My tentative plan is to activate just three grids:
* BP51 from the Mt. Baldy trailhead
o Mat-Su, Anchorage, and peninsula areas
* BP41 from a new (to me) site at the Point Woronzof Overlook
o Anchorage, and the peninsula
* BP50 from the Turnagain Arm turnout I tested earlier this year
o With omni antennas I'll probably only reach Anchorage
* I might also re-work BP51 on my way home by stopping at the Flat Top
site for an hour or so, just to catch anyone coming on late.
It should be a short day, but a fun one. In June I expect to have the
full yagi stack ready to go.
