what caught my attention with ISCAT was a website where it was being
used for aircraft scatter. WSPR I thought would have a relatively
constant amplitude for receiver/antenna tested or comparison. CW is an
all time favourite because it doesn't need software to be decoded.
WSPR is suited to meteor scatter
I'd have to look into it, but I thought that WSPR could have a CW ID
at the end of the transmission.
Both a pro and a con, WSPR monitoring is 24/7, on the other hand who
would be listening for anything from here? There was a 2M beacon in
Edmonton, but I understand that the carrier frequency (at the time I
looked into it) isn't stable and may be off by a couple of KHz, making
difficult to listen for meteor pings.
WRT VHF and up, I'm very much on my own here.
