I second everything Ed said, lol.

It's a ton of fun in these contests, and it really is enlightening to see
who you can contact on simplex. You'll probably be surprised and who you
can reach. These are also prime chances to test out emcom gear, which is
what I usually use them for.

You don't have to be a "contester" to play either. Just shout out your call
and me or anyone else you contact can walk you through the exchange. It
really is about fun, not competitiveness.
