Good turnout last week with six stations checking in. Local Fog
apparently affected prop and local noise plagued me for part of the net.
Cold-clear early winter wx promises a good inversion layer this week
(hopefully). It was 11F in Kenai at 9am (16F at home as I write).

Pretty much ready for winter. Net will begin at 9am on 144.200 USB
with my running 140w into four ten element yagis at 52-feet.

-------------------------------------------
I did some testing this last week and determined my extra 2m
11-element yagi temp mounted on my 6m tower has high SWR (8:1) so
unusable as a spare. I'm thinking of taking it down and putting up
my 26 element 432 satellite yagi with only vertical elements used
(432 yagi at 58-foot has bad SWR and is out of reach to repair).

With use of a short 6-foot fiberglass masts in center of my 2m-eme
array I could mount the 432 antenna and add relays and 0.4 dBNF
preamp in equipment box at tower top. I have one unused coax run
that could be used with the preamp (transmit would share use of the
1-5/8 inch transmission line with 144, 900, and 1296). About 50w
would reach the antenna from the shack where I run a 100w amp.

After the net I am putting my K3 on the workbench for updates to LO
synth board and general coverage bw filter (to expand use of the
radio to 630m band. That means I will have not use the K3 or 2m
Preamps for Net on last weekend of the month which we run 146.52
FM. K3 will be back in service by first WE of November.
