For Alaska VHF Up Group members, this is a reminder about the operating awards given by the club. For all others interested in working Alaskan stations, there is an award for working five KL7 grids on any one VHF/UHF band. Working five grids in Alaska is certainly going to be a challenge for many, but it is a challenge well worth pursuing. The award is called THE SOURDOUGH CERTIFICATE. Those interested can read about it and the other award given by the club for activating five grids in Alaska, THE PATHFINDER CERTIFICATE, here:

For AVG members, the upcoming ARRL June VHF Contest will present a great opportunity for doing a 5-grid rove towards earning the PATHFINDER CERTIFICATE. Two Alaskan hams have earned this award on three bands. You could be the next to earn it.
For stations in Canada and the "lower-48", Alaskan stations will be active during the contest and throughout the sporadic E season, looking to work you.

Good luck!
73, Paul K7CW / VE7IBAVG Awards Chairman
