We have 70 members of record that are entitled to vote for the
Board. 33 are residents of Alaska and 73 live outside the state of Alaska.
Per the constitution, the BOD is elected to serve a term of two years
beginning 1July. The month of June is the election period.
We have four nominees: AL2B, K7CW, KL7UW and KL7XJ.
Three directors are elected:
1. From Alaska (nominee must reside in Alaska). We have two
nominees eligible for this seat: KL7UW and KL7XJ. Only members who
reside in Alaska vote for this director.
2. Non-Alaskan (can reside anywhere). Any of the four nominees may
be this director. Only members who live outside Alaska vote for this
director. If you live in Alaska do not vote for this director.
3. Director-at-Large (can reside anywhere). All members vote for
this director. Any of the four nominees may be this director if not
already voted for one of the other directorships .
So the way this works is each member may vote for two directors.
If you live in Alaska you chose the Alaska Director and the
Director-at-Large. If you live outside Alaska you chose the
non-Alaskan director and the Director-at Large
Do not vote for more than two directors.
Since membership is Free (no dues charged) we have no treasury for
paying for mailing of letters so we are depending on most to vote by
e-mail to: KL7UW at acsalaska.net --or those who have no e-mail or
their e-mail address is unknown or bounces we will have to send a
letter (postage comes out of my pocket). So please help by using
e-mail to vote.
I will try to make this simpler by providing a ballot with a check
off box for voting based on your physical address. This will be sent
as a follow-up to this election information e-mail which I am posting
to the AK-VHF and PNWVHFS e-mail reflectors. I'm hoping this will
reach the majority of members. These instructions will be repeated
on the ballot.
So far I have 25 e-mail plus 8 regular mail addresses documented for
members residing in Alaska. I will go thru assembling a list of
e-mail addresses for out of state members, next. I am using QRZ.com
to do this if we do not have your info on file from when you
joined. E-mail corrections/updates are appreciated.
