notes:

I am in the process of installing an 11-element yagi (KLM-22) to be
installed on my tower#2 at the 45-foot level on a an 8-foot crossboom
fixed in the direction of Anchorage (about az=50). This will be
installed with the ARR MSP144VDG-160 switching preamp which permits
using a single 80-foot run of LMR-400 with 1.2 dB loss so 75% of my
transmit power will be available at the antenna. I will run FM using
my new Yaesu VX6-R driving a Mirage amp to 35w driving the RF
Concepts amp to 150w.

My four yagi eme array has high SWR above 146-MHz so this antenna
will be tuned to favor the mid-to-upper frequencies so my amplifier
will run at its full 150w level vs 75w it currently runs when on FM
frequencies. This translates to about 110w at the new antenna vs 50w
at the eme array. The KLM-22C is a circularly polarized x-yagi with
11-elements in each polarity. I will use only the vertical set on
this new antenna. I am hoping to find an equivalent boom to make a
second antenna to stack side-by-side.

I will not get the new antenna up time for tomorrow's net (wx a bit
breezy at 45-feet), but hope to have it up in another week. be
interesting to see comparison with my 9-dB omni vertical antenna
(which has a longer feedline). I expect up to 10-dB improvement
(partly due to higher height).
