Paul,
Sorry, my intent was informative, but may have come across sounding
exclusionary. You certainly are the most active promoter for the AVG
that is not a full-time resident in Alaska. As a member of the board
from the founding of the group in 2005, a significant leader in our Group.
Probably not many of our members are aware that the three member
board is made up of one representative for Alaska residents and one
for non-residents. The third member represents all members. The
purpose was to provide leadership with points of view and
representation from members, irrespective of where they live, while
preserving the Alaska orientation: "interest in VHF+ operation in Alaska".
You have been one of the few who have run a VHF dxpedition to
previously unworked part of Alaska (KL7FF). As our contest/awards
Chair, you work for all of us interested in VHF+, and that includes
non-members.
Sorry if my poor writing gave any other impression.
BTW I just revised my list of things to accomplish (deleted all that
had been accomplished in previous years). I do it for two reasons:
first is mainly to help me keep my goals in mind, second to let folks
know what I am working on for the future. I call it my Project
Spreadsheet and is located on my website "home page".
Final note: 2013 is the year for elections of board members and
officers of the Alaska VHF-Up Group. A link to the constitution and
bylaws is on the website which spells out this process that is held
every two years.
