HI all,
Just a note to say the new KX3 is fun to play with. Been getting
familiar with the controls and listening on 20m a bit. I downloaded
my memory freqs. from my K3 to the KX3 so that works slick using the
Freq. Memory Editor sw (works with both radios). Using the KX3
Utility program I listened (watched) at bit of psk-31 on 20m. Kinda
nice but I like using Digipan with its waterfall display for tuning
psk-31. The radio can interface to computer for that (and any SDR sw).

It is a 10w 1.5 lb. 7.5w x3.5h x1.5d package tunes 160m-6m; an all
mode SDR (but has control panel that looks like a shrunk
K3). Actually tunes to 310-KHz and will include 2m with a module yet
to be produced which will install inside the radio.

Now I have a radio that can sit on 50.125 and monitor for
openings. It will be useful as 2m IF on mw in place of the venerable
FT-817 (which I sold to afford this little "gem").

I will continue to use the K3 for main use in the shack with
transverters on 144/222/432/1296. The KX3 will be used for
mobile/rover on 6m/2m and portable on 9 & 3cm. IN the shack the
KX3+2M will monitor 2m FM and 6m DX, or be used on HF while the K3
monitors VHF+. SO2R
