I have decided to cancel the IRLP/Echolink/Allstar version of the
AK-VHF Net since participation by VHF stations is very low. It is
not fitting the purpose I had in mind: where VHF issues could be
discussed, skeds for long-distance made, and stations thru-out Alaska
could participate. It just has not caught on.
Therefore, I have decided a better use is to have the net start on
146.52 FM simplex moving to other bands upon request like how the
Southcentral Simplex Net is conducted. Henceforth the AK-VHF Net
will alternate between 144.200 USB (1st and 3rd Saturday) and 146.52
FM Simplex (2nd and 4th Saturday). Appropriate changes will be made
on the AK-VHF website to announce the change.
I expect this to be initiated next Saturday March 3rd. The net is
not being held today (Feb. 25).
