About a week ago I posted information about the new website and
e-mail reflector for the Alaska VHF-Up Group on this reflector. Many
of the AK-VHF members are also members of PNWVHFS and on this
reflector so I felt this was a good way to get the news out.
But I need to clarify one thing. We are limiting use of the AK-VHF
e-mail reflector to members-only use (there are now 55
members). This is being restricted to keep the e-mail load down to
Alaska oriented exchanges. But anyone can join the Alaska VHF-UP
Group very easily and it is FREE. No dues or registration fee is
involved. The application is an xls form. And if that is a problem
then a simple e-mail to me is acceptable. In the form we collect a
little information for contacting purposes and band activity info to
share (one of the reasons the group was created was to help those who
were looking for VHF+ Alaska stations to work).
I have two pending registrations for the reflector which are not
members. I returned e-mail with attached membership form (xls and
xlsx). I am still holding these reflector subscriptions awaiting
their membership application, but will drop them in a couple more
days I do not receive their application or contact me (assuming they
were not interested).
The board decided to make the AK VHF-Up Group independent from my
personal website and to enhance contacting. We do not expect very
much reflector activity, but it is there for Alaska VHF+ oriented
contacting, discussions, etc.
If this is still unclear, please e-mail me direct and I will try harder!
