SAQ is operating on 17.2 kHz and here is the detail for the forthcoming
transmission:(rx'ed from Lars Kålland )

WINTER TRANSMISSION FROM SAQ

We have received requests, especially from the United States, to
transmit during winter time and therefore we will have transmissions on
Sunday 19th at 09:00 UTC and 13:00 UTC.

The two transmissions will start with a short message followed by
a "VVV DE SAQ"-slip for at least 30 minutes each time to make it
possible to adjust receiving sets and antennas.

QSL-reports are kindly received:

- E-mail to: info at alexander.n.se
- or fax to: +46-340-674195
- or via: SM bureau
- or direct by snail mail to:

If there are Wunners out there without VLF receiving gear (?) go to
this web site: http://webflash.ess.washington.edu/ for near realtime
spectrograms of the VLF range below 22 kHz. The test today was received
with very good signal quality at Sheffield, Moscow and Sodankylä. Due
to lack of time I did not manage to take a look at the US east coast
spectrograms. But at least US east coast wunners, should be able to ear
SAQ as the time of transmission is favourable.

Happy VLF hunting on Sunday 19th.
