Hallo,

hier eine kurze Weiterleitung einer für jeden Cwisten bestimmt interessanten
Info.
Leider gibt es sowa in Europa (noch) nicht? Oder liege ich da etwa falsch?

Es geht hier darum, dass Museumsschiffe (solche haben wir ja auch zahlreich)
ihre alten
Seefunkanlagen wieder restaurieren, sich diese re-lizensieren lassen um dann
diese auf den Seefunkbändern für „Special Event“ (auch QSO-Parties,
Sondergrußsendungen etc.) in CW wieder „Gassi führen“. Es gibt dafür sogar
einen speziellen Tag „Night if the Nights“ in der viele historische
Seefunkstellen (teilweise mit Status von "Nationaler Monumente") wieder in
Telegraphie aktiv werden, hier werden meist alte historische
Seefunktelegramme, Pressespiegel, Wetterberichte und QSO wiederausgesendet
werden. Daneben fahren die beteiligten Schiffe, Museen und Küstenfunkstellen
untereinander in einer QSO-Party 2-Way-CW-Kontakte. Für DL kann ich mich nur
an ähnliche einmalige Events des DWD erinner, hier gabs aber nur
„Re-Broadcasts“ und in einem Fall eine Crossband-QSO-Aktion.

Vielleicht sieht das die eine oder andere Museumsstation als Anregung, hier
auch einmal sowas stattfinden zu lassen, natürlich unter Beteiligung der
BnetzA, die aber bestimmt der sache positiv gegenüber eingestellt ist.
Crossband-/Interservice-QSO-Aktionen zwischen Seefunk- und
Amateurfunkstellen sind ja laut Aussage der „Post“ (seineszeichen sogar von
Herrn Gabriel) vollkommen legal, solange die Seefunkstelle eine
Sondergenehmigung ihrer zuständigen Fernmeldeverwaltung hat, um Funkverkehr
mit Amateurfunkstellen durchführen zu dürfen. Gleiches dürfte analog auch
für SWL-Events gelten.

Also wie wärs ? Ich hoffe einige „Museumsschiffe“ sind Mitglied der AGCW und
lesen hier auch mit...hi

The historic WWII Victory ship Red Oak Victory/KYVM has returned to the air
using its original vintage radio equipment.

Maritime Radio Historical Society (MRHS) members Tom Horsfall and Steve
Hawes recently offered their services to the Richmond Museum Association,
owners of the Red Oak Victory, to restore the ship's Federal/MacKay radio
console to operation.  The offer was accepted and the work has now been
completed.  The radio console is now fully operational on all its original
commercial frequencies.  Everything about the installation is historically
correct, including the antenna which was reinstalled according to the
specifications in the original ship's drawings.

MRHS members also helped the Richmond Museum Association to apply for and
obtain a commercial ship station license for the Red Oak Victory.  The
ship's last commercial call sign, KYVM, which had been held in reserve, was
reassigned to the ship.  The license may be seen at:

KYVM has been on the air on the medium frequency (MF) marine band testing
with MRHS coast station KSM on both its calling (500kc) and working (425kc)
frequencies.  The high frequency (HF) transmitter is also operational.  MRHS
members took great care to assure that the station complies with all current
standards and regulations for commercial service.

Red Oak Victory thus joins a growing list of historic ships that are
operational on their original commercial frequencies.  The list includes SS
Jeremiah O'Brien/KXCH, SS Lane Victory/KECW,  LST-325/NWVC and the
Battleship Massachusetts/NEPL.

SPECIAL NOTE: The MRHS is planning a special, MF only, "mini Night of
Nights" during which KSM, KYVM and, we hope, other ships and coast stations
will be on the air.  Watch this space for additional information.
