Thanks to all for the cudos. As Joel pointed out, patience is probably the
biggest factor...especially KL7.
6M was in great shape Sunday afternoon. JAs were in, the FFMA grid chasers
were after a couple of rare grids on the west coast. Stacked yagis and KW
amps were in the fray. A fellow in New England with a horizontal loop and
80W was the beneficiary of double hop sporadic E and worked the station on
San Clementine Island, DM02. That's 6M. KL7J and KL7HBK were in here
for about 20 minutes. Yes it was FT8. When operating 6M I have my Flex
radio set up with an RX and WSJT-x on 50313 another on 50323 and a third
open to see the span from 50080 to 50150. Usually listening on 50125 USB.
There is usually some CW activity below 50100. There was lots of SSB
activity on Sunday. I can't imagine working 6M without a spectrum
display.
FFMA is a challenge but it seems to be easier now with FT8, MSK441, SDR,
SLACK coordination, etc. I think four or five ops achieved FFMA this past
weekend.
Sorry for the off-topic ramble....this is a DX list! KL7 was a new band
country, 6M WAZ Zone, State and Grid.......sweet!
73,
Pat, W5VY
