[ADXA] Challenge award question

George (JJJ), John (BHS) and Charles (K5CS) have indeed become DX'ing
monsters. I've always admired people who do all that record-keeping for
the Challenge award, and keeping up with modes, etc. I've had a good time
looking at the old QSL cards and remembering the "good old days". I need
to get my records up to date and then catch up with George and John and
then I can coast a little. I do know how to use FT8 so I think I can clean
up a lot of the common ones I need that way. My weakness is on the low
bands, though.
Thinking about this caused me to call a local heavy duty bush-hogging
company that can clean up several acres behind and beside the house. I
have a lot of 60-70 foot pine trees but there is so much brush and small
trees that it is difficult to put up wire antennas. I kidded George and
John about costing me a lot of money, but really, it's something I've
wanted to do for a long time. It's going to be nice for puttering around
this winter when the ticks and snakes and yellowjackets are gone. I can
also see a 160 meter inverted-L, an 80 meter wire vertical or array, and
some slopers or verticals for 40 and 30 meters. I should have done that 10
years ago!
I'm proud of my fellow Russellville DX chasers - time for me to get in
there and pitch with them, and do my share of giving them a hard time!
73,
Dennis
