Joel,
Looks like you had it a lot worse than the NW part of the state. A bit of ice, but no loss of power.
Have you heard any chatter about the Russian DX contest that is scheduled for mid March? I wonder if there will be any kind of boycott or other symbolic gesture? There have been several stations on 20M this morning on CW transmitting that the UBA contest was cancelled due to the war. Obviously our Ukrainian friends are off the air.

Greetings ADXA Folks.

I hope everyone survived the ice storm. We were hit pretty hard here north of Searcy at the W5ZN QTH with between 1/2" to 3/4" of ice. We were without commercial power for around 48 hours. Wasn't a real issue as we have a big Generac generator that runs the whole house but our high speed internet goes down without power so we were disconnected from the world, so to speak!

All of my RX antennas are on the ground and the HF yagis are actually Ugis......U-shaped yagis. Will definitely need some repairs once the WX warms up. We had literally no thawing yesterday. Temp out here did not get above 29 deg even though the sun popped out, or pooped out, for about an hour.

8Q7MW has been on 160 meters and that is the last zone I need for my CQ WAZ 160 award. I also need it for a new one on 160. Thursday I spent about an hour stomping around on the ice out in the field to get at least one RX antenna up, the NE Beverage. 8Q was on that night but I didn't make it through the pileup. My 160 TX antenna is crap right now, covered in ice with a high SWR and no directivity. They are sked to be there until March 8 so hopefully there will be some warm up today and tomorrow to get rid of the ice on the TX array.

So, hope everyone fared well.

Now on to planning antenna repairs!
