Thanks to everyone for your very nice and kind comments.

Lanny, K1LEC, should get all the credit for this article. He worked with
the folks at Searcy Living and then insisted they speak to me. Christine
and Martha came out one afternoon, sat down in my shack and asked me one
question to which I started talking and continued for almost 2 hours!
They took good notes. I haven't read the final version that is in the
magazine yet however I did review the final draft and assume there were
no changes.

I did receive some texts and emails from "non-hams" friends in Searcy
who say it is a very good article.

Lanny and I wanted the article to reflect somewhat on amateur radio's
history but to focus on where it is today and what is possible for
someone who obtains a license so as it wouldn't be labeled as "old
technology" which drives me insane when I hear it.

Anyway, many thanks to Lanny for pushing the article. I just happened to
wind up as the "cover boy"!

THANKS LANNY!

73 Joel W5ZN
