Haha, yea Pat, we've done that a few times. Reminds me of when I moved to
MO in 1981 to work on the Callaway plant. With the family in a motel I went
out to the truck to see what I could hear on 2 meters, and right off the
bat here are two guys conversing with each other at 25 to 30 WPM, holding
their microphones near their keyers. I thought to myself, "I've come to the
right place." Later I did a few FD operations with those guys.
George, I forgot that Techs could do 10 meters all the way back in 1980.
I'll bet you were ripping it up, as were we all. I think I slept through a
couple sunspot peaks and used to wonder why the rig even had that "10"
position on the bandswitch. 1980 and thereabouts answered that question.
Yeah San, I noted the same thing on the QRZ page, but then a regular
internet search on K5HTF turned up this nice obit, with some ham radio
