Greetings ADXA Folks -

Its great to see some excellent conditions that past couple of days.
Lanny, K1LEC has been breaking in his new hex beam and picking up some
nice new ones in addition to trying 12 meters for the very first time.
Congrats Lanny! There has even been a bit of 10 meter DX.

We continue to have some nice TEP to South America on 6 meters. Last
night on 6 meters we had a huge opening to the pacific northwest, the
best I've seen in a few years. There were some very rare grids on also,
CN73, CN74, CN75, CN76, CN77 and CN78. These grids are more than 95%
water out in the Pacific ocean, and only a very small sliver of land on
their eastern side in northern California, Oregon and Washington. If you
missed those last night...well, you missed them. They are very hard to
grab not just because of the very small land mass but because the prop
out that way is rare!

It was good to see a number of ADXA folks in the 6 meter fray last
night. The best one was our own WB5JJJ working WB6JJJ. Now, I had to sit
back and think if that QSO occurred back in the Novice days they would
just now be completing at 5 WPM with all those "J's" in the callsign!!!
:-))

6 Meters is still opened to the northwest this morning. If you don't
have a 6 meter antenna, try your 15 meter antenna. Sometimes those
perform well on 6 and when the band is open you don't need a lot of
juice!

The ADXA Board is reviewing options for our scheduled 2nd Quarterly
Meeting June 20. At this point, I'm not sure what we will do however I
expect a decision in the next day or two.

It was also very good to see a number of ADXA folks among the 2100 plus
who attended Contest University on-line via Zoom Thursday. There were
some very good sessions.

Let's get moving on our antenna projects, if you haven't already, before
it gets too stinking hot here in Arkansas. I have one additional HF
antenna to raise (I don't have enough, yet). K5EJ has a new, additional
tower/antenna project underway and so does Roger, N5QS. Kim and I ran
into Roger and Dawn at Lowe's this morning so I know his is starting to
move forward quickly.

In the way of operating events, the CQWW WPX CW contest is coming up
shortly, May 30-31. Rules are here https://www.cqwpx.com/ This event
usually occurs on Memorial Day weekend and is a conflict for some but
this year, due to the calendar, it is the weekend after so you can't use
that as an excuse.....as if we could this year with no place to go!!!!

Be safe.
