There are still some nice openings despite lousy band conditions overall.
Check 40-17 meters in the evening. Lots of DX although mostly digital. The
path into Asia on 20 is really good 0300 range. I scored a new band country
on 17 (#327) recently so there is good stuff in there. Just got to tune
around a little

Subject: [ADXA] ADXA Update & Rambling

Greetings to all ADXA Folks,

The section in our ADXA quarterly newsletter reserved for the President was
once called "Words of Wisdom". I never viewed anything I had to say as
"wisdom" and as such I have none to provide during this situation we find
ourselves in other than its getting pretty darn old! I've occupied my time
with a number of work and radio projects but still find the restrictions
from what was a normal lifestyle to simply be depressing.

Obviously, I have no insight as to what will transpire over the coming weeks
into the summer but obviously our scheduled 2nd Quarterly meeting set for
Saturday June 20 is questionable however we will see how things go. The ADXA
Board of Directors will review things over the next few weeks.

So, there are a number of radio related things you can plan to participate
in during May to occupy your time. These include:

May 9 Saturday - Arkansas QSO Party. Details have already been publicized
here and if you forgot the website URL where the details are located we have
a link setup on our ADXA website.

May 14 Thursday - Contest University. If you never have had the opportunity
to attend, here's your chance!!! Since Dayton is cancelled CTU will be
on-line via Zoom and registration is FREE this year. Go to
https://www.contestuniversity.com/ to register. It is an abbreviated
schedule from the in-person event however there are some very excellent
sessions to catch and two of our previous ADXA Conference special guests,
W3LPL and N0AX, are presenting. You also want to catch Rob Sherwood, NC0B's
presentation. This is the first year in about tens years that I am not
presenting at CTU. I had already declined this year and was going to miss
Dayton due to a professional conflict so I'm pleased that I can still join
in on some of the action as a "student"
this year.

May 30-31 - CQWW WPX CW Contest - Here's an excellent opportunity to break
the boredom with some real CW contest action! Details are here
https://www.cqwpx.com/

If you have not already done so, I want to make one final plea for you to
renew your ADXA membership. The updated list is on our website. If you're
not on the list I want to encourage you to do so. If you're not on the list
and you did renew, please let me or Glenn, N5RN know so we can resolve the
matter.

On a final note, we still expect to have an annual conference later in the
year however what that will look like and what it will involve is yet to be
determined. Planning is currently on hold until things become more clear.

Thanks for your support of ADXA, ARRL and amateur radio.
