[ADXA] Good day

Just like the analogies of stages of life and fly-fishing, I am old enough
to be happy with one good DX catch a day.

Over the past week, I have been able to pick up all the stateside 13
Colonies SESs on CW. A real accomplishment for this young ham with old ears
(and brain!). Today, I monitored the webclusters and on air for an
opportunity to get the GB13COL station. It has yet to be. There was also a
lot of pent up frustration by US hams on the lack of opportunity/conditions
to contact our fellow hams in the UK for this event. It was showing in the
webclusters today:

GB13COL 2028Z 14000.0 Ever coming back on? W1ZE

Pretty funny and entertaining considering the band conditions.

But one thing I've learned as a young ham is to not become so focused on one
objective you miss out on a serendipitous opportunity. So I continued to
monitor several bands, and earlier this evening, I saw a spot for a YN7 SSB
station on 14.265. I tuned in and he had a clear signal. Not strong but
good. After he completed a call, I gave him a shout and he came back on 50w!
57/57.

I had picked up YN earlier on FT8 from a remote station in Nicaragua. But
they never confirmed. So this one is on LOTW and direct QSL stateside!!!
Just need two countries (French Guiana, pending, and Guyana) to complete
central and south America. I am happy with my new hobby. Bug off, Redcoats,
hihi.

73 and good DXing,

Scott/W5AAJ
