I have been QRT due to family visits and lots of travel, including our ARRL CW contest effort from PJ6A, THEN, this week, the DRIVEN ELEMENT OF MY MOSELY S-33 FELL OFF!!!~!~
Dealing with Mosely to see about this obvious design flaw…BUT will be trying on 160 tonight with my modest set up!

The night you worked them Joel, saw your spot and immediately listened. NOTHING heard here. My only issue is that with our peak, other very good antenna DXers guys still are louder, even at my peak and would beat me out.. Hi hi Disappointment but I do with what I have, which ain’t much. I listen when I start hearing the closer K4 or K8 stations calling or spotting on DX Summit. Usually about a 45 min window total. TU.

Subject: [ADXA] 5X3C on 160 Meters
For you ADXA folks who have an average 160 meter setup, heck even if it
is below average, and want a shot at 5X3C I would encourage you to
listen between 7:15-7:30 PM, or even expand that a bit from 7:00 to 7:45
PM, at our local sunset which currently 7:16 PM.
Thursday night they had a massive sig for about 15 mins at our sunset
and were totally gone by 7:35 PM. I worked them easily Thursday night at
0022z. I did not listen Friday evening as I was on 7P8LB watch and last
night I was very busy helping Jimmy Stewart and John Wayne tame the wild
west so don't know if they were on 160 or not. Tonight, however they
were on 160 and again had a HUUUUGE signal right at and just after our
SS for about 20 minutes or so and then gone.
Remember, timing is everything so hang at the radio. This is 160 meters
so there is NO guarantee this will occur every night they are on 160 but
so far it has occurred on two nights. IMPORTANT - they are listening up
so do NOT transmit on their frequency. They have been on 1827.3, usually
listening up 3 or so. Call them UP UP UP!!! Do not call on their
frequency and become a candidate for the ADXA Goober Award!
They seen to hear very well on 160 so if you don't believe you have
enough "meat" on 160 but are listening and hear them, give them a call.
Propagation on 160 is strange and you may be surprised!
