For you old dog DX'ers you know the torrid history of the Spratly Islands.
In fact the DXpedition I mentioned recently that was attacked by a hostile
military and one radio amateur killed was an effort to activate Spratly
years ago.

Times have changed somewhat but the Spratly's are still a disputed territory.

Right now, a multi-national team of radio amateurs are on their way to
activate Spratly in a BIG WAY, especially on the low bands with low band
big gun K1ZM leading that group. This is a group of first class operators.

They are currently in Kota Kimbalu and were supposed to be on one of the
Spratly Islands today all fired up however their charter plane arranged to
take them there from KK was cancelled late last night (their time) and
they have rescheduled for today (their local). I was just chatting with
K1ZM who is at his hotel in Kota Kimbalu and they are anxious to go.

So, sharpen up your pencils, rigs and antennas and work these guys when
they fire up. This one is semi-rare and I know several of you need it for
an all time new one and some need it on a few bands. I only need them on
160 meters and will have them in my cross hairs the next few days.
