RRR Joel.
I just worked the KH1 5 minutes ago on 40CW at 11:30Z but had been calling from about 4:45AM, weak signal etc, BUT went to get coffee at 11:25Z came back and signal was peaking VERY well. All within 5 quick minutes. Now he is fading some. Stupid of me to call for 2 hours knowing my small vertical wud not beat out the HUNDREDS calling from east coast to 6 land. But I knew where to call and many times he came back to someone RIGHT ON my frequency, usually a K1-K4 station.. Happens many times. I shed a tear and then start calling again. More stupid is that I did not need them on 40m but it “got in my blood” to work them. HI Now maybe lucky if can hear ‘em on 80m before they tear down the low band antennas tomorrow.
