Labor Day is our national holiday to recognize the American labor force.

In a more modern tone is signifies the end of the summer routine, school
is back in session and it is time to GET BACK TO WORK! Or more importantly
get back to a normal routine and back on the air now that your summer
routine "should" be over.

I realize Mother Nature did not get the word that summer was over and our
temps have been hitting the 100 deg mark. I spent this past weekend in the
heat getting my 8 Vertical BSEF array for 160 meters set up. The break in
the heat on Monday was welcomed and I couldn't stand being in the office
so I spent the day performing some additional low band RX antenna work
with a couple of the other arrays I use in the winter. GET THOSE ANTENNAS
READY NOW!!!! The contest season is upon us and lots of DX will be all
over.

There is a lot of DX on that you NEED to work right now. The D66D gang is
on from Comoros with good sigs on the bands. They were very good copy on
my 40 meter dipole 40 ft off the ground and on my 75 meter inverted Vee
with the apex at 50 ft. While not extremely rare there is not a lot of
activity from here so get them in your log.

H44GC is on from the Solomon Islands with decent sigs on the bands. I need
them on 160 so that was the catalyst for me to get at least one RX array
out this past weekend. They were on this morning with a decent signal here
but they were experiencing QRN and I didn't make it. I'll be there again
in the morning.

Start checking your favorite DX bulletins for upcoming DXpeditions or
countries you need.
