Dear Gary:
At a recent quarterly meeting of the Arkansas DX Association (ADXA), we discussed certain issues presently before the DXAC for consideration. I’m sure you are aware of the ADXA as our organization has been around for over 45 years and was one of first ARRL affiliated DX clubs in the nation.
Our members directed me, as ADXA President, to submit the following comments:
Remote operations – We realize this is an ever-increasing means of legal operation. However, for DXCC purposes we strongly recommend the following:
The control point for operating the remote station and antennas must be located in the same entity as the remote station and antennas.
The control point, remote station and antennas must be within a certain mileage distance of each other. The club suggests something in the order of a 200-250 mile radius.
The transmit and receive antennas must be in the same entity and within the mileage distance noted in item 2 above.
The control point, remote station, and antennas must be land based.
Country (entity) criteria - With regard to the current DXCC country (entity) criteria, we believe the current rules have served exceptionally well, especially in keeping the ARRL and DXCC program out of the political arena with regard to new entity determination. We do not recommend any change.
Thanks, Gary. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
73, Frank, N7FF
President, Arkansas DX Association
