Randy:
Don't let the condx this winter discourage you. This has been an
abnormally poor season on 80, probably due to the high SFI and absorption
rates. It will only get better as the sunspot activity drops off. Not
good for the 6 and 10 mtr guys but great for us down on the lowbands.

Subject: [80m] list and a note
I have never posted to this list - but seeing others here has spurred me to
participate...
I have never worked DX on 80m before this winter. At least not very much.
Since I got voice access to the 80m band, I have largely been a lurker to
the band and to the boards - except for the 3905 CC nets. I've worked 47
states on 80m and about a dozen 80m countries. It has been easier than ever
to work 80m DX this season. I just got Antartica confirmed three days ago.
It has been very exciting for me.
Largely, I've made these DX contacts by monitoring 3.79 - 3.805, DXSUMMIT,
and by participating in 3905. Is there any other methodology that I should
be employing? I have considered making a contact plan by looking at the DX
column I get from the ARRL every week, but I seem to not be able to keep up
with it. :)
Seasons Greetings and 73,
