Here in Alberta (nearly 54 deg north) working Europe is always a challenge,
and a treat when it does happen. Last week or so has been quite good, with
3 chances to work Europe.
Our sunset is 2313 and our sunrise is 1543. The other opening is around 0700
utc (sometimes earlier). G0NVD, EI9HW, EI6S and others are most often heard
at 2300-2400 and the 0600-0800 area.
Our 1400-1600 morning (longpath) is more dominated by the Scandinavian area,
and OE6MBG as well.
I am in a generally quiet rural location so I can often hear better than I
can be heard (another propagation property of being this far north). The
antennas are a pair of Bobtail curtains (at right angles, rarely used now)
and for the last 3 years we have had the 4 element full size yagi at 150
feet. Some pix at http://narc.net/ve6jy/ for anyone interested. The rotor
info needs updating - it didn't last either!
