I recently posted to this reflector asking if it was still active and
got lots of answers. So it appears people are here waiting - either the
bands are really lousy or there is just no one there. If we talk about
it a little maybe we will get some idea of what is going on. So here
goes:
As a point of reference my sunrise today is 1217 and sunset is 2126 and
I am in New York.
0400 this morning: OH2BH was 5X9+10 in the DX window. Martti needs a
few for WAS on the band, including South Dakota. Martti, KB7UP (Ken) in
SD was on at 1200 this morning. I know that is too late for you, but
maybe you guys can work something out. Other Europeans were also strong
between 0300 and 0400.
1030 to 1230 this morning: JA beacon on 3925 was 5X9+5, but I heard
only 1 JA. That was Elvin, JA3CZY, and he was too work to work on the
east coast. I heard nothing else from Asia or the Pacific. KL7HSB was
strong for over an hour. VP5/K4ISV was strong, but then Bud always is.
2100 this afternoon: VK6LK is coming through long path, but very weak.
I haven't heard Robin very well for more than 2 weeks. No other long
path signals heard although Europe is now beginning to come through (now
2123 - not yet dark).
Ok, that's it for me. What is anyone else hearing?
Merv, W2OE
